What makes these Indian sweets different
Three things, and they are the reasons most of our regulars started ordering from us in the first place.
No eggs anywhere in the kitchen
Num Num’s is a 100% eggless bakery, not a bakery with an eggless option. There is no egg in the sweets, no egg in the cakes, and no egg in the kitchen they are made in — so there is nothing to double-check before you order. Vegetarian and Jain-friendly families can pick anything on this page.
Made fresh to order, here in Sydney
Mithai is made fresh to order rather than mass-produced — the same kitchen, the same day. Tell us the date you need the box for and we will have it ready for the time you collect. For festival weeks and large trays, the earlier you message, the easier it is for us to say yes.
Sold by the kilo, priced up front
Boxed sweets are priced per kilogram and every price is printed on this page, so you know roughly what a 500 g or a 2 kg box costs before you message us. Syrup sweets — gulab jamun, rasgulla and rasmali — are priced per piece if you only want a few.
A short guide to the six ranges
What each sweet actually is, who it suits, and how it is sold. Prices are the ones on the cards above.
Kaju Sweets
$39.99 per kg
Cashew mithai: finely ground cashews cooked down with sugar into a soft, dense fudge. This is the range people reach for when the box is a gift. Kaju Katri is the classic diamond-cut cashew slice usually searched for as kaju katli; alongside it we make Kaju Kalash, Kaju Pan, Kaju Cassata and the rolled Laju Pista, Laju Kasata and Kaju Anjeer. Mild rather than syrupy, and easy to hand around.
Barfi
$34.99 per kg
A milk-based fudge set firm and cut into squares or diamonds — the everyday mithai of most Indian households, and the sweet people most often come looking for near them. We make it Plain, Almond, Pista, Mathura, Chocolate and Basan. It travels well, keeps its shape on a tray and is the safest choice if you are buying for a crowd with mixed tastes.
Peda
$34.99 per kg
Thickened milk rolled into small rounds and pressed flat — softer and milkier than barfi, with a gentler sweetness. Peda is the traditional pick for a puja, a naming ceremony or handing out good news, and it suits people who find syrup sweets too rich. Plain, Almond, Mathura and Pista, sold by the kilo.
Milk Sweets
$36.99 per kg
The grainier, richer end of the counter. Milk Cake is the caramelised, crumbly one people search for by name; Kalakand is softer and more granular; Chumchum is light and syrup-kissed; and the Mix Sweet box is there for when you cannot decide. For anyone who likes mithai dense and properly milky, start here.
Gulab Jamun & Rasgulla
$34.99 per kg box · from $2.49 each
The syrup sweets, served soft and soaked. Gulab jamun are dark, dense and best eaten warm; rasgulla are pale, spongy and much lighter. Buy them boxed by the kilo at $34.99, or individually — Syrup Gulab Jamun and Syrup Rasgulla are $2.49 each and Rasmali is $2.99 each — which is the easy way to add a few to a cake order.
Laddoos
From $33.99 per kg
Round, hand-rolled and the traditional sweet for festivals, prasad and celebrations. Kesar Laddo and Yellow Laddo are $33.99 per kg; Panjari Laddo, the coarser, nuttier one, is $35.99 per kg. Laddoos are the most practical mithai to buy in bulk because they hold their shape and portion out neatly.
How to order, pick up and buy in bulk
Order by messaging us on WhatsApp, calling +61 425 697 725, or using the online order form. Tell us which sweets you want, the weight or number of pieces, the date, and which store you will collect from. Every order is made fresh for pickup from our Harris Park or Riverstone stores, ready at the time you choose.
Buying for Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, a wedding, a naming ceremony or an office tray? Because the boxed ranges are sold by the kilo, bulk and mixed orders are simple — choose the ranges, tell us the total weight, and we will quote it. We also put together gift boxes across the ranges for festivals and events. Peak festival dates fill up first, so message early with your date rather than on the day.
